Join us for Tween Book Club! This month we will be reading The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan.
The Red Pyramid follows siblings Carter and Sadie Kane, who have lived separate lives since their mother’s mysterious death. When they reunite with their father, Dr. Julius Kane, an Egyptologist, he accidentally unleashes the ancient Egyptian god Set, who plans to overthrow the other gods and plunge the world into chaos.
Carter and Sadie learn that they come from a powerful line of Egyptian magicians and that the gods can still interact with the modern world. As Set escapes and imprisons their father, the siblings are blamed by the House of Life (the magicians’ governing organization) and forced to go on the run.
While traveling across the globe, Carter and Sadie discover their own magical abilities, encounter Egyptian gods like Isis, Horus, Anubis, and Bast, and slowly learn to work together despite their differences. Their goal is to stop Set from completing a ritual involving the Red Pyramid, which would give him ultimate power.
