Join us for our second meeting of the year at our Tween Book Club. We will be reading The Last Mapmaker by Christina Soontornvat.
The Last Mapmaker is a thrilling middle-grade adventure set in a richly imagined fantasy world inspired by Southeast Asian cultures. The story follows Sai, a determined twelve-year-old girl who hides her humble origins in a society that values status and ancestry. When she lands a job as an assistant to a renowned mapmaker, she sees it as her chance to escape her past and build a better future. But as she joins a dangerous sea expedition to chart unknown lands, Sai soon finds that secrets—her own and others’—can be just as treacherous as the journey itself.
