Event Details
This winter, Powhatan State Park is offering Nature Journaling workshops at the Powhatan Library! Teens and adults are invited to deepen their connection with nature and stretch their creative muscles in this hands-on course. You'll practice collecting and recording your observations of nature in various creative ways using paper and a writing utensil. We will begin with an introduction to nature journaling, followed by time devoted to outside exploration, observation, and recording in your journals. At the end of the workshop, the group will be encouraged to share observations and ideas with one another. This class involves optional walking, from a small to a moderate amount on an easy trail near the library.
Call 804-598-7128 from 9am to 4pm daily or email powhatan@dcr.virginia.gov to register.
Please bring something to write with (i.e. pencil, pen, or markers) and something to write on (i.e. loose paper or sketchbook). You may also want to bring a collapsible chair to sit on while recording your observations outside.
Please note: This event will be held at the Powhatan Library one Saturday a month in January, February and March; then starting in April it will held monthly at the Powhatan State Park.
